Iovine to stop Jada's 50 Cent diss

While 50 has recently been poking fun at his labelmate Jadakiss, heads haven't heard much of a response from Jada. Lately, 50 has appeared in countless outlets discussing his motives for dissing Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Nas and Kelis on his highly anticipated track, "Piggy Bank." In XXL's February issue, the Queens rapper even told the publication that Kiss wasn't on his level because he's yet to get a platinum plaque. While the streets are impatiently waiting for Jada to strike back, insiders say Mr. Raspy may not get to retaliate. Rumors are spreading that Interscope Chairman, Jimmy Iovine won't allow a diss track because 50 is generating to much revenue for the label. Sources are saying Iovine fears the damage a tested lyricist like Kiss could inflict upon 50.

Lil Wayne Still With Cash Money Records

After months of speculation, representatives for Lil’ Wayne confirmed that the rapper is still signed to his native label, Cash Money/Universal and not a Jay-Z helmed Def Jam.

“Lil' Wayne is still on Cash Money/Universal and his label Young Money Entertainment is through Cash Money/Universal as well,” Lil Wayne’s publicist CJ Robinson confirmed on Friday (Jan. 21).

Lil’ Wayne himself sparked the rumors, stating on several commercial radio stations that he was heading for Island Def Jam, and would be Jay’s newest recruit.

A budding entrepreneur, Wayne, has reportedly been recording with his Young Money Entertainment artists Mack Maine and Curren$y, who are also from New Orleans.

Dash set to make splash at new label

Rap impresario Damon Dash is ready to crank up the volume at a new record label.

Dash, who co-founded rap powerhouse Roc-A-Fella Records along with superstar Jay-Z, is set to sign a joint venture deal with Island Def Jam chairman Antonio (L.A.) Reid next week, sources told the Daily News.

Dash has considered naming the label Roc for Life, though it's unclear what name he will ultimately choose, insiders said.

Nicole Ray, a singer previously on Roc-A-Fella's roster, is likely to be among the first to sign on with Dash's new company.

Dash and Island Def Jam declined to comment.

50 Cent Endorses Dodge Charger

Following in Snoop Dogg's footsteps, 50 Cent is eager to endorse Daimler Chrysler's brand new 2006 Dodge Charger.

The new four-door model is premiering at the North American International Auto Show presently taking place in Detroit and goes on sale in the spring.

"I need to know what I gotta do to get that Dodge Charger first. I need that," 50 told Dub magazine publisher Myles Kovacs.

Now Chrysler is reportedly hurrying to provide 50 with the Charger. Last summer, Snoop requested a Chrysler 300 sedan from division chief executive Dieter Zetsche.

Eminem And 50 Cent Sign Up British R+b Act

Hip-hop heavyweights EMINEM and 50 CENT have signed up a British R+B duo after they were spotted singing on a Los Angeles street corner.

The STAN rapper's aides were so impressed with GRANT HARVEY's vocal skills as he sung to raise money for food, they immediately invited him to perform with his music partner DANIEL BOOKER for the hip-hop stars.

And after mesmerising Eminem and 50 Cent with their talent, TIIDA became the first signing to their new G-UNIT SOUL record label - which focuses on R+B acts.

The Game Admits To Almost Signing With P. Diddy

On The Game's eagerly-awaited debut, The Documentary, the artist reveals that he almost signed with P. Diddy's Bad Boy Records.

On the album, the hardcore gangsta also known as Jayceon Taylor, mentions the names of several folks who he had been in talks with before he settled with Dr. Dre and Aftermath. The name dropping included P. Diddy along with Death Row's Suge Knight, former Def Jam prez Kevin Liles, ex-Elektra CEO Sylvia Rhone, and the heads of Roc-A-Fella and Murder Inc.

Many may find it hard to picture the true-to-life grime stories concocted by Game on the flashy pop-oriented label, but it almost happened.
